Face Masks Policy (12 years of age and over)

Please inform the staff if you or your child are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms (e.g., respiratory symptoms, fevers, sore throat, cough, loss of sense of smell or taste, diarrhea) or any respiratory symptoms, even if you believe it’s not COVID-19. If you exhibit any of these symptoms, it is requested that you book a telephone consultation with your GP. The GP can arrange a referral for a COVID test if necessary and provide instructions for a face-to-face consultation if required. Patients aged 12 years or older with symptoms are asked to wear a mask when entering the practice or if requested by a doctor/health professional. If there are concerns about this request, please discuss them with the doctor/health professional who may offer a telephone/telehealth appointment instead. This helps ensure the safety of all patients and staff.

Test Results, Recall & Reminders

Family Doctors Plus requires everyone to make an appointment (face-to-face, telephone, or telehealth) for all investigation results, including blood tests and imaging results. This ensures comprehensive medical care. If results are normal but the problem persists, further investigations or a referral may be needed. Due to privacy laws, results cannot be emailed or faxed. It is essential to keep contact details up-to-date as communication may occur via SMS, phone, email, or mail.

Contacting Your Doctor/Allied Health Professional

Appointments should be made to speak with your usual doctor or allied health professional. Reception staff may assist with initial concerns but are not clinically trained. Clinical queries should be directed through an appointment. Requests for paperwork outside appointments will incur a fee. Doctors and health professionals do not communicate with patients via social media channels or email, as these are not monitored 24/7. For clinical queries, an appointment must be made. In case of emergency, dial 000.

Medical Students/GP Registrars

Family Doctors Plus is committed to medical education and is an accredited training medical practice with RACGP, GPTQ, and The University of Queensland. Medical students and registrars are welcome. Contact the Practice Manager for more information.
